How To Tell If A Tripped Breaker Is Dangerous Or Not

One of the most common electrical issues homeowners have is tripping breakers. They can be annoying and scary if you don't know what's happening. In this episode, we talk about why your breakers are tripping, how to fix the problem, and if your panel is safe. We’ll also go over some real-life examples.

The breaker is there to protect the wire in your walls. Most breakers will have a number on the switch. The numbers indicate how much power the breaker will let go into the wire. It trips when it senses more electricity than there should be going into the wire. That helps prevent electrical fires.

And when your breaker panel is working right, it protects your wires very well. It gets dangerous if you start saying, “I have a breaker that trips, and I’m not sure why.” Hidden short circuits or arching or loose connections behind the wall can be dangerous fire hazards.
