The Top 5 Parts That Fail in Furnaces

If you live in the same home for a long enough time, you’re going to have furnace problems. This episode covers the top 5 most likely problems you’ll run into. We go over what to watch out for to prevent a failure and what you can do to fix your furnace if something does go wrong. The first problem your furnace might run into is a dirty flame sensor. Your flame sensor is a metal bar that sits in the path of the burners to sense if they ignite when you turn on the furnace. If it gets covered with carbon build-up, it’ll shut the furnace down so your house doesn’t fill with gas.Another common part that fails is the ignitor. Over time it will wear out and stop igniting the gas to heat your home. Many older igniters are fragile enough to break from a little vibration. Sometimes people trying to clean the flame sensor take out the igniter by accident, damaging it when they do.

We’ll go over the other three most common furnace failures in the video. If your furnace is giving you trouble, Any Hour Services would be happy to help. One of our certified HVAC can come to your home and diagnose the problem. Then they can work with you to find the solution that works best for you.
