The main disadvantage of mini-split A/C systems is their cost. Mini-splits provide a more efficient and more comfortable cooling solution for your Phoenix, AZ home. As such, their sticker price is a bit more expensive than a traditional HVAC installation.

An advantage of mini-split systems relative to traditional systems, is their ease of installation. Smaller conduits to connect the indoor to the outdoor units can be used to install a mini-split A/C system.

Perhaps the most stark advantage of mini-split A/C systems is their flexibility. Mini-split A/C systems allow homeowners to cool different room(s) in your home at different temperatures, giving each room its own thermostat, all the while the entire system is still powered by the same outdoor unit. This flexibility allows for additional comfort throughout the home.

Mini-split systems have energy savings that traditional systems do not as a byproduct of mini-split systems not having ducts. According to the Department of Energy, losses of energy from ducts can account for up to 30% of energy consumption for air conditioning. A more efficient cooling system also will result in reduced monthly energy bills for your Phoenix, AZ home.
