Utah Heat Pump Service
For many Utah homeowners, heating systems that run with heat pumps are increasingly common. Heat pumps increase the efficiency of your heating and air system. Your heat pump provides a dual purpose all year round, as it is used in both the heating and cooling process inside your home. A heat pump can also be paired with a traditional furnace to form a hybrid heating system, which improves both efficiency and comfort.
How Does a Heat Pump Work?
Reversible heat pumps work in either thermal direction to provide heating or cooling. Heat pumps have a valve that can reverse the flow of refrigerant from the compressor through the condenser and evaporator coils.
Components of a heat pump:
- Condenser coil (hot side heat exchanger, gas cools and liquefies)
- Metering Device (liquid expands and cools)
- Evaporator coil (cold side heat exchanger, liquid vaporizes and heats up)
- Compressor (gas is compressed and heats up)
