Make Sure Your Christmas Lights Sparkle Without Sparking

With Christmas right around the corner, it’s a good time to discuss Christmas lights. With so many styles and options to choose from, there are some general things to consider. In this episode, we clarify those safety and technology considerations so your family can enjoy your lights this season.

If you’re stringing lights along your roofline, you’re already familiar with the risk of being up that high. But the electricity involved with Christmas lights can be just as dangerous. Using GFI-protected outlets, checking your extension cords, and keeping the plug out of the gutter can all help.

Once you know your lights are safe, you can choose from a wide range of lighting options. LED lights are common because they use less electricity and don’t heat up as much. You can turn your lights at set times with timers, or from an app on your phone. Some even synchronize with music!

We hope you enjoy your Christmas lights this holiday season. If you’re hanging your lights and feel overwhelmed, Any Hour Services would be happy to help. One of our electricians can answer any questions you may have and help your family be safe this season. You can give us a call or schedule an appointment online.
