Two Minutes Out: Every Second Counts
How Long is Two Minutes?
Consider this:- Dentists recommend you brush your teeth for two minutes
- Microwave popcorn takes just over two minutes to pop
- At a brisk pace, the average person can walk about 200 steps in two minutes

Fire Safety Planning
Two minutes just isn't a lot of time. But, according to the National Fire Prevention Agency, two minutes is all the time you have to get out of a burning house. From the time your smoke alarm sounds, you have two minutes to rush to the nearest exit and GET OUT. Two minutes doesn’t leave time to gather belongings or search through the house for people or things. Two minutes is only enough time to get yourself up and out. Therefore, it’s imperative that everyone in the house is well-versed on the family fire escape routes, can exit the home quickly, and can make it to the family meeting place outside and in front of the home.
